New Runways
The government is considering massive expansion of airports in the southeast of England and has suggested that Luton Airport expand its current runway or build a taxi-way to allow operations to more than quadruple.
A third runway at Heathrow is also a possibility, which would also affect airspace and noise in the Vale.

However, Luton has put forward an alternative proposal for a second runway, allowing it to fly 500,000 planes a year. That's larger than Heathrow with a third runway! (see attached pdf document)
